Just before 9pm Saturday, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable Coldiron attempted to stop Honda CRV which was southbound on I-69 at Kingwood Drive. The reason for the stop was an expired inspection sticker. The driver sped up in excess of 100 mph and led deputies on a pursuit south through Humble where Humble PD assisted. The driver exited Will Clayton and turned off his lights in an attempt to lose the police. The driver continued south to Rankin where he entered the U-turn lane striking the curb and blowing a tire. He then sped northbound on the I-69 feeder toward Will Clayton. It was at that point he threw a pistol out the window. The blown tire finally brought him to a stop just south of Will Clayton. The driver was taken into custody. His reason for fleeing was he didn’t believe police had a right to stop him. Evidentally he didn’t think the 1.5 pounds of marijuana found in the vehicle, or the failure to have insurance or a valid drivers license was a good enough reason either. He is facing evading charges along with several other charges.
