MONTGOMERY COUNTY PURSUIT ENDS IN WOMAN WAITING FOR A BUS BEING STRUCK AND KILLED

Just after 2 pm Wednesday, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Units assigned to the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force were working on a tip of a wanted person from Montgomery County. Joseph Jebbia was located at a gas station on the I-45 feeder northbound between Mount Houston and West Road. As he pulled out he spotted patrol units and accelerated. Units were attempting to catch up to him when he ran the red light at West Road and I-45. In doing so he struck another motorist causing Jebbia to jump the curb, ripped out a construction sign and Metro Bus Stop sign, and slammed into a woman who had just come from a Walmart shopping trip and was waiting on the Metro bus at the stop adjacent to the Aldine High School parking lot. Jebbia then fled that scene leading Montgomery County and other law enforcement units on a pursuit to Fallbrook Drive and continued on until he crashed at Smiling Wood and SH 249 near the Willowwood Subdivision. He was then taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, he had in his possession a loaded assault weapon, body armor, and a large quantity of Fenenyol. He now faces charges of murder, evading, failure to stop and render aid, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of body armor. The charge could be upgraded to Capital Murder since it happened during the commission of a felony offense. I-45 feeders were gridlocked for several hours as Houston Police, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office investigated and documented the scene. The woman has not yet been identified.  Jebbias also faces charges for aggravated assault in Montgomery County.

Deputies secured the location and obtained a search warrant for the residence. The search resulted in seizing approximately 2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, a sawed-off shotgun, Ecstasy, and multiple prescription pills.
