Approximately 11:15pm Tuesday MCHD was dispatched to an unconscious male in the street at Deep Woods and Old Houston in East Montgomery County. When they arrived they found a 58-year-old male in the middle of the road with severe head trauma.
Medics and firefighters from both New Caney and Caney Creek worked on the man almost one half half hour before declaring him deceased.
Judge James Metts, Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace arrived at the location and ordered the victim transported to Dallas for an autopsy.
DPS Troopers investigating the accident are looking for a white pickup truck who was seen leaving the scene of the accident.

Old Houston Road was closed for over two hours as DPS investigated.
District Attorney Brett Ligon responded to the scene also to assist in the investigation.
The man who will be identified as soon as next of kin are notified was walking in the southbound lane of Old Houston Road when he was struck by the southbound truck.
