montgomery county sheriff tommy gage announces “offender watch”

Sheriff Tommy Gage is proud to announce the implementation of a new tool to help keep citizens of Montgomery County informed about Sex Offenders who may live in close proximity to their homes, places of work, schools, and daycare centers.

Earlier this week Offender WatchTM was launched and this new easy to use sex offender registry allows anyone to search for the presence of registered sex offenders and to read safety tips concerning those offenders.

This tool is being provided to the citizens in a form that can easily be used any time day or night. Anyone may enter any address of interest and see a map and listing of offenders within one mile of that address and then can register their address to be continuously monitored. This will send an email alerting them if an offender should register an address within one mile of their registered address.

There is no cost for the use of this system and there is not a limit on the number of addresses that can be monitored.

Sheriff Tommy Gage said, “The purpose of this system is to lessen the anxiety of our citizens by proactively alerting them should an offender move within the proximity of the address they have registered. This will enhance the security and safety of all of our citizens. We are proud to offer this service to everyone here in Montgomery County.”

To access Offender WatchTM, simply go to

or go to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Web page  at , go to the bottom of the page  “IMPORTANT LINKS AND PHONE NUMBERS” and select “FIND”
