MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAS A BUSY WEEK –BY LT. DAN NORRIS

District 1 – Lt. Jim Fleming (North County)

On August 9, Deputies S. Squier and K. Berger were sent to the 13300 block of Brigadier Drive in reference to a theft. A Willis PD unit was on scene detaining a male. The male had been identified by the complainant as one of two males that had stolen his generator. The generator was recovered. The 32 year old male from Willis was arrested at 2:13am, charged with theft and also a capias pro fine warrant out of Montgomery County and was transported to jail.

On August 11, Deputies S. Squier and K. Berger made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Cedar Lane and FM 1484. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the Deputies observed the vehicle had a fictitious license plate, a fictitious or counterfeit inspection sticker and a fictitious registration sticker. The 22 year old male driver, from New Waverly was arrested at 11:10pm and transported to jail.

A 42 year old male from Cleveland was arrested at 11:07pm, August 13, in the area of Carmen Blvd and Hwy 105E by Deputy S. Squier for a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a trespass call. The male was taken to jail.

A 32 year old male from White House, TX, was arrested at 1:53am, August 14, in the 11100 block of Hwy 75 by Deputy D. Pena for an abusive 911 calls warrant out of Montgomery County. The male had been stopped on a traffic violation. The male was transported to jail.

On August 15, Deputy K. Underwood was notified of a family violence assault call in the 5400 block of Serenity North Drive. The Deputy met with a male complainant who advised his son was in a rage and he told his son to leave. The younger male pushed his father over a chair and also damaged the home. The suspect male left the scene and was later located hiding under a tractor. The 28 year old male from Willis was arrested at 2:10am and transported to jail.

On August 15, Deputies S. Squier and K. Berger were dispatched to the 10700 block of Royal Magnolia in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputies met with a male complainant who stated he and his father in law had gotten into an argument and that the father in law had struck him on the face with a closed fist several times. The male complainant had blood on his face and was swollen around his mouth and rear head area. Five witnesses on scene advised the father in law and male complainant had exchanged blows but the father in law was the main aggressor. The 46 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 2:50am and taken to jail.

On August 15, Deputy A. Terrell was sent to the 17400 block of Hunters Trail in reference to a family violence assault. The Deputy met with a male complainant who advised his wife was intoxicated and they got into an argument which led to her causing a cut to his forehead. The female had thrown a rock at his truck several times causing the windshield to break. The 38 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 1:12pm and taken to jail.

On August 15, Deputy S. Degner responded to a disturbance in progress call in the 12300 block of FM 830. The Deputy met with a female and male complainant who advised the female’s common law husband was intoxicated and mad and had swung a machete at each of them. The 40 year old male from Willis was arrested at 7:09pm, charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to jail.

District 2 – Lt. Brady Fitzgerald (South County)

On August 11, 2010 at approximately 2:30 am, Deputy Jones and Deputy Uber were dispatched to an Attempt to Locate a Reckless Driver call. Deputy Jones and Deputy Uber met with the complainant who stated that the suspect vehicle pulled up next to him at Brookhaven and Rayford Forest and yelled several things at him in Spanish. The complainant then turned into the parking lot at 25170 I-45. The suspect vehicle backed up and pulled into the same parking lot, striking the complainant’s vehicle then leaving the location at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle was located a short time later by Deputy Nichols on Six Pines Drive and a traffic stop was conducted. After completing the investigation and receiving a positive identification from the complainant, Deputy Jones contacted the District Attorney’s Office and charges were accepted against the driver, White Male 23 yrs old from Conroe, TX. The passenger, White Male 26 yrs old from Montgomery, TX, was found to be extremely intoxicated, thus posing a threat to himself or others and was taken into custody for Public Intoxication. Both were transported to the Montgomery County Jail without further incident.

On August 16, 2010 at 8 a.m., Deputy Wakefield conducted a traffic stop in the 24000 block of I-45. During the course of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, White Female 30 yrs old from Palestine, TX, was found to be in possession of 1.4 grams of Hydrocodone, without a prescription. When taking her into custody For Possession of a Controlled Substance, it was found that she was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. The owner of the vehicle was contacted to come retrieve the vehicle. When she, White Female 50 yrs old from Kirbyville, TX, arrived on scene, she was also found to be in possession of a dangerous drug and was also taken into custody. Both suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

On August 17, 2010 at approximately 3:15 a.m., Deputy Hernandez responded to a Shots Fired Call in the Nueces River Loop area. Upon arrival, he met with a neighbor who stated that the suspect, White Male 39 yrs old from Spring, was in the street firing a weapon. The suspect was located and stated that he had been “shooting off fireworks to scare his dog back home.” However, no firework debris was found by the Deputies on the scene. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was found to be in possession of two handguns and an AR-15 assault rifle. One of the handguns was identified as an air soft gun and the other a .357 revolver. Further investigation found that the revolver had recently been fired. Deputy Hernandez contacted the District Attorney’s office regarding the situation and charges were accepted for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon due to a previous felony conviction. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

District 3 – Lt. Darrel Conn (East County)

On 8/11/10 Deputy Ortiz was dispatched to the 22000 block of E. Martin Dr. in reference to an Assault Family Violence call. Upon his arrival he met with the victim and learned that a physical altercation had ensued. The suspect grabbed the victim’s throat and began to choke her to the point that she could not breathe. The suspect, a 27 year old male was arrested and charged with Assault (Family Violence) (Strangulation) a second degree felony.

On 8/13/10 Deputy Ashmore was dispatched to the 23000 block of Timber Oaks in reference to a suspect in a vehicle pointing a rifle or shotgun out of the window. Upon his arrival he met with the victim who stated that a black Honda drove by and the suspect pointed the gun at him. While the Deputy was on scene the same vehicle drove down the street. The Deputy was able to stop the vehicle and identified the driver as the suspect. The gun was found in the vehicle and was found to be a pellet gun that looked like a real gun. The suspect, a 39 year old male was arrested and charged with Deadly Conduct.

On 8/13/10 Deputy Amstutz was on patrol in the Porter Walmart parking lot and observed a vehicle parked in the fire lane. Upon further inspection the vehicle had a ficticious registration and inspection sticker. The driver, a 38 year old male was arrested for the ficticious registration and ficticious inspection and received a citation for parking in the fire lane.

On 8/15/10 Deputy White was dispatched to the 17000 block of Oak Grove Ln. in reference to an Assault call. Upon his arrival he met with the manager of the assisted living home and learned that the suspect had assaulted several individuals in the home including the manager. The suspect was enraged due to not being able to smoke and being asked to take medication. The suspect, a 29 year old male was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault Family Violence.

On 8/15/10 Deputy Ortiz was dispatched to the 26000 block of Coleman Dr. in reference to an Assault Family Violence call. Upon arrival he met with the victim who learned that the suspect had been intoxicated and belligerent for around a week and on this date he got in the victim’s face and began to yell and grab her wrist. He continued to squeeze her wrist causing an injury and pain. The suspect was arrested and charged with Injury to the Elderly due to the age of the victim. The suspect, a 73 year old male was also charged with an outstanding warrant for DWI 3rd or more.

On 8/15/10 Deputy Dunn was dispatched to the 26000 block of Carol Ln. in reference to a disturbance call. Upon his arrival he found an individual in the disturbance was detained by Splendora Police. The suspect was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The suspect, a 47 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication for his safety and the safety of others.

District 4 – Lt. David Park (West County)

On August 16th Deputy Zavorski was dispatched to the Lakes of Magnolia subdivision in reference to a vehicle disturbance. The reportee advised that there were two trucks driving recklessly through the subdivision. Two vehicles matching the description of the racing vehicles were located in the driveway at a residence on East Sulphur Creek. The two male subjects were both arrested and charged with Reckless Driving and transported to the Montgomery County jail.

On August 15th Deputy Zavorski observed a disturbance in the Chevron parking lot between a man and a woman at Highway 249 and Hardin Store Road. The Deputy observed both subjects to have a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Customers at the store advised that the couple had been yelling and screaming at each other for approximately 10 minutes both inside the store and outside in the parking lot. Both subjects were placed into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On August 15th Sgt Bybee and Deputy Provenzano were dispatched to a Trespasser in Progress in the Hazy Hollow Subdivision. A female subject was beating on the door of a residence and throwing rocks at the house. Deputy Krolczyk assisted in detaining the female subject who had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. The subject admitted to have been drinking earlier in the night. The subject was arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to female booking in Conroe.

On August 14th Deputy Birch was dispatched to the 29000 Block of Shady Brook in reference to an Aggravated Assault. Upon arrival Deputy Birch met with the Complainant who advised while he was mowing he heard shots being fired from across the street and saw what appeared to be rounds hitting the ground just feet away from him. The Complainant stated he saw a male subject in his yard shooting his rifle in his direction. The Complainant advised the subject threatened to kill him at which time he called 911. While waiting for the Sheriff’s Deputies to arrive he began mowing again and the subject fired at him five more times. He quit mowing and took cover until the Deputies arrived. After interviewing the male subject who appeared to be very intoxicated Deputy Birch placed him into custody for Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon.

On August 13th Deputy Zavorski was dispatched to a residence on Pond Circle in reference to a Family Violence. Upon arrival Deputy Zavorski met with the Complainant. The Complainant advised that her ex-husband was intoxicated and trying to fight their 18 year old son. She advised that he had shoved her son trying to make him fight. The subject was arrested for Assault by Contact Family Violence and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On August 11th Deputy Tavarez and Sgt Russell were dispatched to a residence on Miranda in reference to a Family Violence. Upon arrival the Deputies met with the female Complainant who advised that she and her husband a 57 male subject began arguing over telephone usage. The verbal argument escalated into a physical argument where the male subject physically attacked her and threw the battery from the phone at her which struck her in the face. Deputy Tavarez and Sgt Russell took him into custody and charged his with Assault Family Violence and transported him to the Montgomery County Jail.

On August 7th Deputy Crandell was dispatched to the 15000 N Ravenswood Drive in reference to an Assault Family Violence. Deputy Crandell met with the Complainant who advised an argument had started over her 17 year old son doing his chores and him refusing. Her son had physically attacked her and during the altercation she had been hurt and her hand cut. Her son had left the scene, but was located walking down Nichol Sawmill. He was arrested for Assault Family Violence and transported to male booking in Conroe.

District 5 – Lt. Don Lacy (Northwest County)

On 08/12/10 Deputy Garlock responded to the 11200 block of Burning Tree in regards to Criminal Trespass. The resident reported that a male subject had came to his home to see his daughter and refused to leave after being advised to do so. The resident stated that this has occurred before and the male had been issued a written criminal trespass warning by officers advising him not to return to this location. The subject was arrested for Criminal Trespass, Misdemeanor B and placed into the Montgomery County Jail on an undetermined bond.

On 08/13/10 Deputy McCarthy responded to the 200 block of Cape Conroe Dr in regards to Burglary of a Habitation. The complainant reported that sometime during his absence someone entered his unsecured residence and stole numerous articles to include electronics and personal affects. The amount of theft is estimated to be in excess of $ 6500.This case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division.

On 08/13/10 Deputy Rex conducted a traffic stop in the 15900 block of SH 105 West.Upon making contact with the male driver it became obvious that the subject was highly intoxicated and was a danger to himself and others. The subject was administered several field sobriety tests and subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd offense, Misdemeanor A and placed into the Montgomery County Jail on $1,000 bond.

On 08/14/10 Deputy Favorat responded to the 12500 block of Scotts Ridge for the report of a Disturbance. Investigation revealed that an intoxicated male was causing a disturbance with other park patrons. The subject was arrested for Public Intoxication and placed into the Montgomery County Jail on an undetermined bond.

On 08/16/10 Deputy Durbin responded to the 14600 block of SH 105 West in regards to a Suspicious Vehicle parked in front of a local business. Investigation revealed two male individuals inside the vehicle, both found to be highly intoxicated. These subjects were arrested for Public Intoxication and placed into the Montgomery County Jail on an undetermined bond.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Woodlands)

On 08/12/10 South County Deputies were dispatched to Fawn Lilly in reference to a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle in progress. Complainant advised that he observed two subjects burglarizing his vehicle and advised he gave chase but lost them when they entered the home across the street. Deputies Uber and Jones arrived and were given access to the home in which the suspects entered. Deputy Uber observed both male subjects running and jumping the back fence. Deputy Uber gave chase and notified MCSO Communications of his situation. Deputy Uber was able to capture one male who was later identified and determined to be a 16 yr old White Male from Spring. Deputy Everton arrived with K9 Ranger who began a search for the evading adult. The suspect was not located and the search ended. While speaking with the two females in the house from which the suspects fled, it was determined that both females lied about allowing the male suspects in and attempting to conceal them. While conducting the investigation the adult Male suspect was located in a near by lawn. He was taken into custody. The Adult Male Suspect, 20 yrs old from Spring, and the two females, White Female 19 yrs old from Spring and 18 yr old White Female from The Woodlands were arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Jail. The juvenile was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility. Both females were girlfriends of the two male suspects and were charged with Hindering Apprehension. The two male suspects were charged with evading. The adult male suspect was also charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and had a warrant for prohibited weapon with a $10,000 bond.

On 8/13/2010, Deputy Rosales conducted a traffic stop on Gosling. During the course of the traffic stop investigation and talking with the driver, Deputy Rosales requested that Deputy Everton and K9 Ranger check by his location. Once on scene, Deputy Everton and Ranger conducted a search of the vehicle and found several items of drug paraphernalia and a large silver knife in a black sheath. Deputy Rosales contacted the District Attorney’s office and charges were accepted for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. The driver, White Male 22 yrs old from Conroe, was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

On 8/13/2010, Deputy Jones and Deputy Uber were dispatched to a Suspicious Person call on Logrun Circle. While driving in the area, they observed a White Female subject who, upon the deputies stopping, began to run towards the backyard of a residence. Deputies Jones and Uber chased the suspect and detained her in the backyard of the residence. During the course of the investigation, the suspect, White Female 18 yrs old from The Woodlands, was found to be in possession of .12 oz of Marijuana. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive:

8/8 – Deputy Houstoun responded to 1201 Lake Woodlands in reference to a 54 year old White Male Spring, TX resident, being detained for shoplifting. The suspect attempted to steal approximately $1,359.50 in merchandise from Macy’s. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

8/11 – Deputy Koonce responded to 1201 Lake Woodlands in reference to a 16 year old White Male, being detained for shoplifting. The suspect attempted to steal approximately $75 in merchandise from Zumiez. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility in Conroe.

The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 3040 College Park Drive:

8/8 – Deputy Aguilar responded to 3040 College Park Drive in reference to a 37 yr old Black Female Conroe, TX resident being detained by Wal-Mart staff for Shoplifting. The suspect was observed concealing several pairs of shorts, a table cloth and a curtain, in her purse and then attempting to leave the store without making an attempt to pay for the concealed merchandise. Loss Prevention recovered six items valued at $104.00. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

8/9 – Deputy Pternitis responded to 3040 College Park Drive in reference to a 22 yr old White Male Magnolia, TX resident being detained by Wal-Mart staff for Shoplifting. The suspect was observed concealing several pairs of pants and shirts in Wal-Mart bags and then attempting to leave the store without making an attempt to pay for the concealed merchandise. Loss Prevention recovered 8 items valued at $147.00. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail
