Weekly Media Summary & “BLOTTER” Review:

District 1 – Lt. Jim Fleming (North County)

A 26 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 3:36pm, November 29, in the 12500 block of Willis Waukegan by Deputy K. Albritton for a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County.  The Deputy was investigating a disturbance.  The female was transported to jail.

On December 2, Deputy W. Adams and Deputy A. Gonzales were patrolling on I-45 near Calvary Road.  The Deputies observed three vehicles pulled over on the shoulder and two of the vehicles appeared to have been involved in an accident.  During the ensuing investigation a female passenger was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.  A male occupant was noticed walking around the vehicles shaking uncontrollably.  As the investigation continued the male was found to be in possession of 7.019 ounces of marijuana.  The 27 year old male and 17 year old female, both from Houston, were arrested at 8:15am and transported to jail.

On December 2, Deputy K. Albritton was notified of a family violence assault in the 7100 block of Mt Zion Road.  The Deputy met with a female complainant who stated she and her boyfriend got into an argument and the male pushed her several times and shoved a sofa at her which struck her knocking her down.  The 40 year old male from New Waverly was arrested at 5:15pm and transported to jail.

A 55 year old male from Willis was arrested at 9:05pm, December 2, in the 10900 block of FM 1097 by Sgt. C. Rogers for two violation of protective order warrants out of Montgomery County.  The Deputy had been made aware of the location of the male prior to apprehension.  The male was transported to jail.

A 24 year old male from Dallas was arrested at 4:50pm, December 3, in the 13200 block of I-45 by Deputies W. Adams and A. Gonzales for a federal removal warrant out of immigration and customs enforcement (ICE).  The male was transported to jail and a hold placed on him for ICE.

A 55 year old male from Willis was arrested at 7:45pm, December 3, in the 13900 block of Anchor Court by Sgt. C. Rogers for a violation of a protective order out of Montgomery County. The male had been placed in jail on the previous day on two warrants for violation of a protective order and had another issued afterward.  The male was taken to jail.

On December 4, Deputies W. Adams and A. Gonzales were on patrol and observed a traffic violation in the 17100 block of I-45.  After the stop the driver was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver license.  Further investigation and after consent to search was obtained the female passenger was found to be in possession of vicodin hydrocodone pills and valium pills.  The 25 year old female was arrested at 9:55am, charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and transported to jail.

On December 6, Deputy A. Cross was sent to a disturbance in the 14400 block of Hwy 105 East. The Deputy met with two firefighters and a male who was sitting on the ground.  The male’s vehicle was also observed stuck in the mud in a ditch. The firefighters stated the male was intoxicated and he wanted to fight them.  The male had to be carried to the patrol vehicle.  The male either could not follow directions on field sobriety tests or refused to take the tests.  It was determined through investigation and statements that the male had been driving intoxicated.  The 62 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 5:32pm, charged with DWI 2nd and taken to jail.

District 2 – Lt. Andrew Eason (South County/Woodlands)

The following Driving While Intoxicated arrest(s) were made on Sawdust Road:

11/28/2009 – Dep. Jobe arrested White Female 35 yrs old after a traffic stop on Sawdust Road. The suspect emitted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that became stronger as she spoke.  She had bloodshot, glassy eyes and had a hard time maintaining her balance.  During the Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was too intoxicated to follow the instructions and perform the tests correctly.  The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

11/30/2009 – Dep. Hernandez arrested White Male 25 yrs old after observing him driving recklessly (doing donuts) in the parking lot at 125 Sawdust Road. Upon approaching the vehicle the driver and passenger were seen reaching under the seats.  Thinking that they may be reaching for weapons, Deputies ordered the suspects out of the vehicle. The driver exited the vehicle and began walking to the back ignoring numerous commands to put his hands behind his back.  When Dep. Hernandez started to detain him, he actively resisted by pulling away and trying to turn to keep from being handcuffed.  Dep. Phythian had to assist in detaining him.  The suspect was placed in the back of the patrol vehicle, where he proceeded to slip the cuffs from back to front.  Deputies had to remove him from the car and place the cuffs behind his back and then a hobble restraint was placed on his ankles as he continued to be belligerent.  The suspect had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and slurred speech.  An inventory of the vehicle was conducted prior to towing and a sword was located in the trunk of the vehicle.  Charges for DWI and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon were accepted and the suspect was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.  The suspect continued to be uncooperative with Jail Staff and was placed in a violent cell so as not to hurt himself or others.

12/04/2009 – Dep. Martin observed a vehicle driving erratically and hit the median on Sawdust.  He initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle started to stop and then accelerated and ran a red light, entered a parking lot and was turning around to exit the lot when he finally stopped.  Due to his failure to stop, and running the red light, the driver (White Male 27 yrs old) was immediately detained and placed in the patrol vehicle for officer safety.  The suspect emitted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that became stronger as he spoke.  He had bloodshot, glassy eyes and had a hard time maintaining his balance.  During the Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was too intoxicated to perform the tests correctly.  He was taken into custody for DWI and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.  The passenger in the vehicle White Male 38 yrs old, was placed into custody for Public Intoxication and also transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 501 Sawdust Road:

12/5 – White Female 22 – was arrested for Theft after she was seen by store employees selecting items and placing them in her purse.  The suspect passed several points of purchase without attempting to pay for the concealed merchandise and exited the store where she placed the items in a vehicle.  She was then stopped by Loss Prevention officers and escorted back into the store and processed for theft.  The recovered merchandise was valued at $369.87.  The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without further incident. The driver of the vehicle White Male 25 yrs old, was arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

 District 3 – Lt. Darrel Conn (East County)

 On 11/30/09 Deputy Evans was dispatched to the Porter Wal-Mart in reference to a shoplifter in custody call.  Upon his arrival he met with loss prevention and learned that a 18 year old female had concealed $66 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying for the merchandise.  The suspect was arrested and charged with Theft.

On 12/2/09 Deputy Walker was dispatched to Pinetex in reference to an Assault (Family Violence) call.  Upon his arrival he learned that a disagreement had occurred between a Step-Son and Step-Father. The Step-Son assaulted the father by pushing him, punching him and throwing him to the ground.  The suspect, an 18 year old male, was arrested and charged with Assault (Family Violence).

On 12/6/09 Deputy Ortiz was dispatched to Aestival in reference to an Assault call.  Upon his arrival he learned that the suspect had assaulted his wife by punching her in the jaw.  The suspect then jumped on the hood of the vehicle and attempted to kick the windshield in.  The suspect, a 20 year old male, was arrested and charged with Assault (Family Violence) and Criminal Mischief.

 District 4 – Lt. David Park (West County)

On November 29th at approximately 12:40 am MCSO Deputy Hollan observed a subject walking down the center of Pine Shadow in Magnolia.  When checking on the welfare of the subject, Deputy Hollan detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage.  The subject had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.  The Deputy arrested the subject for Public Intoxication and transported him to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On November 29th at approximately 4:15 pm MCSO Deputy LaSalle was dispatched Whipstock Road.  Deputy LaSalle was met by the Complainant who stated that she had witnessed the suspect lose control of his vehicle and drive into her yard.  The Complainant had followed the suspect and called 911.  Deputy LaSalle could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver and observed him to be unsteady on his feet.  The suspect was arrested and charged with DWI.

On November 28th at approximately 12:45 am MCSO Deputy Zavorski was dispatched to Highway 249 at Woodtrace in reference to a traffic hazard.  Upon arrival the Deputy located a vehicle disabled in the turn lane of the highway.  Deputy Zavorski made contact and identified the male driver who had slurred speech, glassy bloodshot eyes and poor balance.  The male was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On November 27th at approximately 9:00 pm MCSO Deputy Suarez was dispatched to the intersection of FM1774 and FM 1488 in reference to a vehicle disturbance.  Upon arriving in the area the Deputy observed a silver passenger car matching the description.  The vehicle made an unsafe lane change and attempted to drive through a parking lot near the intersection.  The Deputy followed the vehicle and activated his emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop.  Upon making contact with the driver the Deputy could detected a strong odor of burnt Marijuana coming from the vehicle.  In plain view on the console of the vehicle was a pipe with burnt substance in it and a Marijuana cigarette was also located.  All three subjects were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On November 27th at approximately 10:30 pm MCSO Deputy Zavorski received information that there was a small child sleeping in a vehicle left unattended in the parking lot of a local bar in Magnolia.  The vehicle was unlocked and both windows open approximately three to four inches. The Deputy checked the hood of the vehicle which was cold.  The temperature outside was approximately 47 degrees.  After opening the door and covering the child with some clothing from the vehicle the Deputy located the mother and a male subject inside the bar where the bartender advised that they had been inside the bar for at least 2 ½ hours.  Both the mother and the male subject were arrested for Child Endangerment.

 On November 26th MCSO Sgt Russell conducted a welfare check on a vehicle in a parking lot at a closed business in the 31000 block of SH 249.  Upon contact with the driver the Sgt noticed a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath.  The driver ID’D himself by name and had poor balance and a staggered walk.  Sgt. Russell determined the driver was a clear danger to himself and the public to due to induction of an alcoholic beverage into his systems.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

District 5 – Lt. Don Lacy   (Northwest County)

December 03, 2009 at 1:15 AM Deputy Lowe responded to the 21000 block of FM 149 North to assist the Montgomery Fire Department on a reported car fire. Investigation revealed that a partially stripped and abandoned vehicle had been set on fire. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen through the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was recovered and the case has been referred to the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force for follow up investigation.

December 04, 2009 at 11:50 AM Deputy Howze responded to the 15500 block of Marina Dr. for the report of a Theft. The Complainant reported that his boat and trailer had been stolen from this storage location. The value of the boat and trailer was estimated to be in excess of $20,000. The case is currently under investigation by the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force.

December 06, 2009 at 1:00 AM Deputy Garner responded to the 20100 block of South Shore Dr. for a reported disturbance in progress. Upon arrival officers observed an unoccupied vehicle in the middle of the road and two adult females on the ground nearby fighting. Both subjects were highly intoxicated and suffered no injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene and placed into storage while both females were arrested for Public Intoxication and placed in the Montgomery County Jail on an undetermined bond. 

December 06, 2009 at 4:20 PM Deputy Farmer responded to the 22000 block of Sharp Rd. for the report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Investigation revealed where a vehicle left the roadway, struck a private fence causing damage and fled the scene. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was later identified and located along with the vehicle involved. The Misdemeanor charge of Fail to Stop and Give Information upon Striking Fixed Object has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.

December 08, 2009 at 1:00 AM Deputy Garner conducted a traffic stop along the 13700 block of SH 105 West. Having suspicion that the driver may be alcohol impaired; the driver was requested to perform several standard field sobriety tests. After failing the tests, the driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and placed into the Montgomery County Jail on $600 bond.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Town Center)

The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 1201 Lake Woodlands:

12/02 – Black Female 35 yrs old – Dep. Ward was dispatched to a Theft in Progress where the store employees were attempting to follow two suspects that had taken items from the store.  Once outside, Mounted Patrol followed one of the suspects through the parking lot heading towards Lake Woodlands.  The suspect was taken into custody in the parking lot at 1420 Lake Woodlands and returned to the original location for identification purposes. Total value of the recovered merchandise was $583.00.  The suspect gave officers a fake name and date of birth when first questioned.  Once receiving a correct name and date of birth, the suspect was found to have 2 previous convictions for Theft.  The subject was taken into custody for Theft and Failure to ID and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without further incident.

12/02 – White Male 18 yrs old – Deputies were notified by Store Security that they had video surveillance of an employee hiding merchandise in the trailer loading dock area of the store and then coming back to pick it up at a later time.  Their investigation of this incident found that the suspect had done this more than once.  The employee was detained by Security and the Sheriff’s Office was contacted.  Total value of recovered merchandise was $584.98.  The suspect was taken into custody for Theft and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 3040 College Park Drive:

11/14 – White Male 44 yrs old – The suspect was seen in the electronics department where he selected several video games.  He then entered the restroom with the merchandise. When he exited the restrooms he was not carrying any of the games. The suspect then went to the shoe department where he put on a pair of shoes placing his old ones back in the box and on the shelf.  He then proceeded to the Mens Department where he chose a Hoodie Jacket and Hat.  He took the price tags off the items and then put the items on. The suspect passed several points of purchase without attempting to pay for the concealed merchandise and exited the store where he was then stopped by Loss Prevention officers and escorted back into the store and processed for theft. The recovered merchandise was valued at $203.68.  The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On December 2, 2009, Dep. Conklin, while on routine patrol in the area of 1330 Lake Robbins, arrested White Male 23 yrs old for Possession of Marijuana and issued him a Citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The suspect was found to have .07 oz. of marijuana in his vehicle.  The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
