Montgomery County Treasurer Introduces New Deputy Treasurer

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- Judy Tarango will begin work on June 12, 2017 as the Deputy Treasurer for the Montgomery County Treasurer’s office.

Selected as the top of many fine candidates, Judy joins the Montgomery County Treasurer’s office from Crius Energy Trust, she served as a team lead for internal audit, prepared cash flow analysis reports and continuously implemented new processes and procedures in an effort to provide cost effective solutions.  Tarango studied finance and accounting, receiving her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Sam Houston State University.  She has been active in the community, volunteering for 10 years as an accountant for St. James House in Baytown, TX.  Her husband, Rodrigo “Tank” Tarango, served in the United States Army for 4 years and they now reside in Conroe with their 2 children. ABOUT THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY TREASURER’S OFFICE

The Montgomery County Treasurer is the custodian of the funds for the county. With a staff of 6, the department is responsible for the receipting, depositing, overseeing and investing of county funds, currently in excess of $400 million. The department is also accountable for the disbursement of accounts payable, processing and maintaining all County vehicle registrations and renewals, processing payroll for more than 2400 employees, for the administration of the bail bond collateral, housing the Bail Bond Board Administrator, the processing of all jury funds, the compiling of fees and fines that must be reported to the state comptroller’s office, as well as unclaimed property for the citizens of Montgomery County.
