On Monday, March 17, 2025, the Montgomery County Vehicular Crimes Task Force will conduct a St. Patrick’s Day DWI Task Force Operation. The task force will consist of law enforcement agencies from around the county who are contributing dozens of officers to the initiative. These task force officers will specifically target impaired driving on Montgomery County roadways by conducting traffic stops and responding to reports of
suspected intoxicated drivers. In addition to these dedicated units, Montgomery County law enforcement agencies will continue to staff full shifts of officers to conduct normal patrol duties and respond to calls for service. In support of the operation, the District Attorney’s Office No Refusal Blood Draw Program will be in effect on St. Patrick’s Day and throughout the weekend. The District Attorney’s Office will staff phlebotomists, prosecutors, and paralegals at the county jail in order to assist with drawing blood samples from individuals who are arrested for driving while intoxicated – whether voluntarily or upon the order of a judge. In the event DWI offenders refuse to provide a voluntarily blood sample, the No Refusal Program expedites the process by quickly drafting and presenting a blood search warrant to a judge. Additionally, prosecutors will be on duty to review arrest records, make charging decisions, and draft charging documents. Participating agencies in the St. Patrick’s Day DWI Task Force include the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Constable Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Conroe Police Department, Magnolia Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, and Splendora Police Department. Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Southeast Texas is also supporting the operation. The Montgomery County Vehicular Crimes Task Force is hosted by the District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Unit and includes state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies from around the county. The goals of the task force are (1) to maintain and improve the safety of Montgomery County’s roadways, (2) to combat impaired driving through high-visibility enforcement efforts, and (3) to enhance the investigation and prosecution of major vehicular crimes offenses.
