MONTGOMERY COUTNY PRECINCT 4 K-9 “VIC” TAKES A BITE OUT OF CRIME

Close to 7 pm Tuesday Charlie Nelson jumped out of a stolen vehicle and fled into the woods near SH 242 and I-69. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 4 Constables surrounded the area. Dogs were put on the ground and drones launched but they came up empty-handed.   Just after 7 am Tuesday morning a citizen on Spears Circle spotted Nelson walking down the street and notified law enforcement. MCSO, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables, and Patton Village Police once again surrounded the area. After over an hour of searching, he was not located, however, Constable Hayden made the decision that this dangerous felon must be taken off the streets. Constable Hayden put his entire day shift in the area to search. Several citizens called in sightings. Dogs were working in the heat tracking him. Then right at noon, a K-9 Deputy spotted him on Mossey Street. K-9 “Vic” attempted to apprehend Nelson, however, Nelson ran into a yard with a cyclone fence and gate. He attempted to shut Vic out. It didn’t stop Vic as he latched onto Nelson’s thigh taking him to the ground. Nelson suffered a severe puncture wound to the thigh and was transported by MCHD to Kingwood Hospital before being transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
