MONTOGMERY COUNTY HONORS THE FALLEN DURING NATIONAL POLICE WEEK

This week as we reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across our nation, we want to bring special attention to 8 of our own heroes of Montgomery County.

*Sheriff Samuel Grimmett of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office -End of Watch 04/11/1847
*Deputy Abner B. Womack, Sr. of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office – End of Watch 04/07/1876
*Constable Thomas Beyett of the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office – End of Watch 08/06/1931
*Sergeant Ed Holcomb, Jr. of the Conroe Police Department -End of Watch 09/14/1982
*Officer Peter Johnson Jr. of Lone Star College System (formerly NHMCCD)- End of Watch 06/08/1997
*Deputy John David Garcia of the Montgomery County Pct 5 Constable’s Office – End of Watch 07/17/2003
*Sergeant Stacey Baumgartner of the Patton Village Police Department – End of Watch 06/19/2016
*Deputy Charles Rivette of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office End of Watch 02/21/2024

These officers lost their lives in the course of protecting their communities, whether during vehicle pursuits, responding to dangerous calls, or while performing routine duties that turned tragic. We continue to honor them with deep respect and gratitude. Their service stands as a powerful reminder of the risks law enforcement personnel face every day. Montgomery County continues to commemorate these fallen heroes through memorials, roadway dedications, and annual ceremonies, ensuring their courage and commitment are never forgotten.
