EAST MONTGOMERY COUNTY – Pct. 4 Constable’s Office arrested a Porter man Tuesday on multiple drug-related charges following an extensive investigation.
Marvin Claude Coats, 62, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; delivery of a controlled substance; money laundering; 3 counts of possession of a controlled substance; 3 counts of possession of a dangerous drug; and possession of marijuana.
An undercover operation revealed Coats was selling drugs from his residence in the 21000 block of Velma Lane in Porter where Pct. 4 officers recovered Xanax, Trazodone, Naproxen, Hydrocodone, Skelaxin, Hydromorphone, and marijuana. Investigating officers also recovered over $14,000, some of which was secured in a safe. Ten firearms were removed from the home as well.
An adult female on the premises was not arrested. Coats, who has a criminal history, was taken into custody by Deputy B. Boudreaux without incident and transported to the Pct. 4 Constable’s Office for processing.
Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden said the investigation in continuing and additional arrests are possible.
