MORE DRUGS OFF THE STREETS OF EMC

A traffic stop on US 59 south bound for failure to signal a turn resulted in yet another drug seizure. According to Precinct 4 Lt. Mark Seals the driver failed to use a turn signal and was stopped near Kingwood Hospital. Lt. Seals was able to smell burnt marijuana in the vehicle as he approached the it asking the driver for his license and insurance. The driver agreed to allow Lt. Seals to search the vehicle and during this search is when Lt. Seals found a box containing three clear plastic bags of marijuana. In addition to a little over eight ounces of  marijuana he found over fifty somas, more than forty Ecstasy and over forty Xanax tablets.

Confronting the driver about the drugs the driver admitted that he also had some on his person. Lt. Seals then found a cigarette pack containing pills and cocaine.

Marc David Cohen, age 45 of Porter was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance. a second degree felony. Possession of Controlled Substance a third degree felony. Possession of Marijuana a Class B Misdemeanor and two counts of Possession of a Dangerous Drug both Class B Misdemeanors. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a total of $29,000 in bonds.
