Last month, Eric Matthews Dawson pleaded guilty to 30 years for sexual abuse of a child. The judge agreed to allow him to remain on bond, which was made for $250,000 on August 7, 2023. Dawson then cut his leg monitor off, where it showed he was at the Mexican border in Arizona. He was due in court on September 16, 2025, for official sentencing. Judge Michalk then issued a warrant for his arrest. Dawson was found last night at a family member’s home in Polk County, and he is currently in the Polk County Jail.
