MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT IN GRANGERLAND

At 4:45pm Saturday afternoon Ronald Hiser age 55 of Deer Park was southbound on FM 1485 on his 2009 Harley Ultra Classic. He was following behind a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Blanca Rivera, age 30 of Conroe. They had just gone through the intersection of Old Houston and Rivera had her right turn signal on. As she started to turn right into the 909 Grocery parking lot. Hiser went around the left side of her vehicle to pass  just as Rivera turned left into the Valero parking lot. Hiser struck her left front fender and laid the bike on it’s side. He slid approximately fifty feet to the ditch.

Hiser’s helmet prevented any head injury as it was visibly scraped where it made contact with the pavement. He was transported to the hospital with a possible broken right leg and road rash.

DPS Trooper Jeremy McGilbery investigated the crash. He found both to be at fault. Hiser for passing when unsafe. Rivera for turning when unsafe. In addition it was determined Rivera had insurance but did not have a drivers license.
