MOTORCYCLE CRASHES AFTER EJECTING DRIVER

Just before 10 pm, a roofing crew was southbound on FM 1774 near Goodson Loop when a northbound Suzuki motorcycle sideswiped the truck breaking its mirror and driver window. The motorcycle rider was ejected and landed almost 150 feet from the crash. The motorcycle continued northbound without a rider for over 900 feet until it struck the concrete pavement of the FM 1774 expansion. It then crashed. MCHD and Magnolia Fire responded to a reported truck crash. They then learned of the motorcycle crash and located the motorcycle. However, they were not able to locate the driver. A short time later, a medic walking along the roadway found the driver in the ditch with severe head trauma. He was transported to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands in very critical condition. DPS is investigating the crash. They have not been able to identify the driver. FM 1774 was closed for over an hour as DPS conducted the investigation.
