On Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at approximately 8:49 p.m. the Cleveland Police Department dispatch office received a call regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger car in the 1100 block of Nevell Street (aka: F.M. Hwy. 787) here in Cleveland. Upon officer’s arrival at the scene; witnesses advised a blue 2010 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Nevell St. an attempted to make a left turn onto the 600 block of Easy Street to head southbound. The Toyota was struck on the front right fender, and front right passenger door by a red and black 2020 Honda motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on Nevell St. in the opposite direction of the Toyota. Witnesses stated, “both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected from the motorcycle, and landed in the ditch approximately 50 feet from the point of impact”. The Cleveland Fire Department, and Allegiance Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to the scene, and begin treating all of the reported injured individuals. A 43 year of age female passenger that was riding on the motorcycle was flown by Airlife- Air Ambulance Services to HCA- Conroe Hospital, where she was listed as in critical condition, and admitted to the intensive care unit. The 50 year old male operator of the motorcycle was also treated by EMS at the scene and CPR was immediately started and he was transported to HCA- Cleveland Hospital, but shortly thereafter succumbed to his injuries. The Toyota’s driver a 28 year of age male was transported to HCA- Cleveland for minor injuries and later released. The Toyota driver stated, “he did not see the motorcycle traveling eastbound on Nevell St. prior to him attempting to make the left turn onto Easy St.” The crash is under further investigation by the Cleveland Police Department.
