Just after 5 pm multiple calls came into the 911 Center in Montgomery County reporting a truck vs motorcycle crash on I-45 just south of Shepherd Hill Road. North Montgomery County Fire responded to the scene. Units arrived to find a GMC 1500 pickup parked in the northbound lane of US 75 and a victim lying in the middle lanes of I-45 with its operator lying in the road deceased. DPS assisted Willis Police in the investigation. Witnesses said the motorcycle was northbound on US 75 at a high rate of speed, As he approached the curve just south of the I-45 exit to Shepherd Hill he was unable to negotiate the curve and went into the southbound lanes of US 75. A green GMC 1500 was traveling southbound and was struck almost head-on by the motorcycle. The motorcycle driver was ejected. Both the motorcyclist and the motorcycle then traveled across the median onto the main lanes of the freeway coming to rest over 100-yards from the initial impact point. Both I-45 and US 75 northbound lanes were closed for an extended amount of time. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. Johnny Adamicks Wrecker towed the motorcycle and Allpoints Wrecker removed the pickup from the scene.
