Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9000 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) at about 12:45 a.m. Friday.
The identity of the deceased male, 47, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer F. Flynn reported:
The male was operating a black Suzuki GSX motorcycle and traveling northbound on the freeway at the above address when he failed to control speed and struck the back end of a silver Porsche Boxster, also traveling in the northbound lanes. The male was ejected off the motorcycle. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The female driver and a passenger in the Porsche were not injured. The driver was questioned, determined not to be impaired, and released.
