MOTORCYCLIST CRITICAL AFTER STRUCK FROM REAR BY INTOXICATED DRIVER

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- Just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, a man in his fifties was eastbound on FM 2432, just east of Willis, when a driver slammed into the rear of his motorcycle. Investigators say the Honda Civic was traveling at high rate of speed, eastbound on FM 2432 when the driver, who was intoxicated, slammed into the rear of the 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle.

The impact was so great that the rear wheel of the motorcycle was temporarily embedded in the front of the Honda, and it occurred with such force that the motorcycle and driver stayed on two-wheels for over 100-yards before the bike broke away and ejected the driver.

North Montgomery County Fire Department responded to the scene, along with Montgomery County Hosptial District medics. The motorcycle operator was transported to HCA Conroe in critical condition with severe head trauma, broken ribs and internal injuries.

DPS responded to the scene and after conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, arrested the Honda’s driver for Intoxication Assault. FM 2432 remained closed until just before 2 a.m. Windcrest wreckers removed the motorcycle and the Honda from the scene.
