SAN JACINTO COUNTY, TX- On the evening of August 17, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a kidnapping in progress near the 400 block of Dove Creek Lane. The caller reported that Justin Walters forcibly abducted his ex-girlfriend from the residence.
An “Attempt to Locate” alert was immediately issued, and multiple deputies began searching the area. Working with regional law enforcement partners, a multi-county bulletin was quickly disseminated.
The suspect vehicle was soon located by the Huntsville Police Department. When officers attempted to stop him, Walters fled on foot but was captured after a brief pursuit. He was transferred into the custody of the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, booked into the San Jacinto County Jail, and charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Assault – Family Violence, and Burglary of a Habitation.
Sheriff Sam Houston praised the coordinated effort, saying “Our deputies acted with professionalism and urgency, ensuring critical information was shared quickly with surrounding agencies. This type of collaboration is what leads to successful outcomes and, most importantly, keeps our communities safe.”
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the Huntsville Police Department, supporting agencies, and its Communications Team for their role in the successful apprehension.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
