● A Historic Winter Storm will impact southeast Texas beginning this evening and continuing
Tuesday producing widespread snow and ice and dangerous or impossible driving conditions
around the Houston metro – perhaps for multiple days.
● A Winter Storm Warning from 6pm Today to 6pm Tuesday. Far northern counties are now in
a Winter Weather Advisory.
● The axis of heaviest snow amounts has shifted a little south and east.
● Snow amounts are expected to range from 1 to 2 inches northern areas, 4 to 6 inches
southeast areas, and 1 to 3 inches west-southwest areas. Locally higher amounts are
possible.
● Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are possible across southern/coastal areas.
● A very cold week is on tap with minimum temperatures below freezing areawide through
Thursday morning.
● A hard freeze is expected for all inland areas Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.
