Last week Caney Creek Fire responded to a major accident on FM 1485 in front of the Caney Creek Cowboy Church. In a no passing zone with a speed limit of 45mph. A male driver with a 10-year-old child crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle head on. The driver who was hit was injured. The 10-year-old remains in the hospital with his back broken in several places according to family members. About noon Monday there was another almost head-on at the same location when a driver traveling at a high rate of speed almost struck another motorist had she not slowed down. Also an observant motorist who was able to brake and pull to the side to avoid a collision. All of this was caught on dash cam.
