Needham Fire RESCUE Incident highlights for the week OF 06 July through 12 July 2012

On 07/06/2012 at 17:20:14 Engine 61 with the assistance of Central Montgomery County Fire Department Engine 172 and Booster 172 were dispatched to a location near the intersection of S. H. 242 E & Lexington Dr. for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Responding units provided first aid and checked for injuries. Engine 61 crew along with Engine 172 and Booster 172 extricated the patient from the vehicle and assisted the ambulance crew load the patients. The patients were transported to a local hospital for further medical assessment.

On 07/06/2012 at 22:23:53 Booster 61 was dispatched to the 17000 block of Sprawling Oaks for an illegal burn incident. Booster 61 arrived on scene to find a small controlled burn. The crew advised the resident that he could not burn in a residential area. The resident complied with the crews request to extinguish the fire.

On 07/07/2012 at 15:08:54 Engine 61 and Needham Fire Rescues’ Assistant Chief were dispatched to 16900 block of Gleneagles Dr. for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

E61 and 601 responded to MVA in the intersection of SH 242 @ Gleneagles. Engine 61 arrived on scene to find the accident moved into the parking lot of a gas station near the accident location. The medic unit arrived on scene to take over patient care of a 58 year old female complaining of neck pain and numbness tingling in right arm. E61 assisted with placing the patient on a stretcher and loading her into the ambulance. The patient was transported to a local hospital for further medical assessment.

On 07/09/2012 at 10:15:18 Engine 64 was dispatched to an address on Carriage Hills Blvd. for a smoke detector activation due to a system malfunction. The crew learned that the alarm had been going off all weekend. The alarm company was to dispatch a technician to determine the cause of the system malfunction.

On 07/09/2012 at 11:10:44 Medical Response 61 was dispatched to an address on Country Ln. for a medical call. Upon making contact with the 49 year old female patient it was determined the patient was having irregular heart rate. The crew assisted EMS with loading patient into the ambulance. The patient was transported to a local hospital for further medical assessment.

On 07/09/2012 at 14:32:52 Engine 61 was dispatched to the 16000 block of Needham Rd. for an alarm activation. Needham Fire Rescues’ Battalion Chief made contact with a representative of the facility who stated there was not an emergency and he reset the alarm. The crew checked the alarm system and determined the system malfunctioned.
