The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the shooting that occurred on Old Sorters Road in Porter, Texas, on April 8, 2024.
Detectives with the Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit are seeking the public’s help in locating 37-year-old Jose Carlos Nava-Prado as a possible suspect in this case. He may be driving a black Ford Mustang with Texas license plate JDZ2090.
Nava is considered armed and dangerous, if you see him, do not approach the suspect or the vehicle.

Just before 1am Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a shooting with multiple victims at the Mexican House Sports Bar on Old Sorters Road and FM 1314. Units with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office and Roman Forest Police responded to the scene. As they were arriving a silver Dodge Charger fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Units stopped it a short distance down FM 1314. The driver was detained, he was transporting the passenger to Kingwood Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. Another male was also located with a gunshot to the elbow. EMS transported the critical gunshot wound to Kingwood. Units arriving on the scene were informed that one male was fleeing into the woods. It was not known if he was the shooter. Atr least three vehicles in the parking lot had broken front windshields from large landscape rocks. Kingwood Hospital was put on lockdown where it remains as the shooter has not been located and the scene is a short distance from the hospital. According to a witness, at least five believed to be construction workers were outside in a fenced-in patio with an outdoor pool table when an argument started and shots were fired. Detectives are now on the scene investigating. This club has been the scene of other shootings, one where a male was shot in the buttocks several months ago.

Al menos tres vehículos en el estacionamiento tenían parabrisas delanteros rotos debido a grandes rocas del paisaje. El Hospital Kingwood fue cerrado donde permanece porque el tirador no ha sido localizado y la escena se encuentra a poca distancia del hospital. Según un testigo, al menos cinco personas que se cree eran trabajadores de la construcción estaban afuera en un patio cercado con una mesa de billar al aire libre cuando comenzó una discusión y se produjeron disparos. Los detectives ya están en el lugar investigando. Este club ha sido escenario de otros tiroteos, uno en el que un hombre recibió un disparo en las nalgas hace varios meses.
