NEW CANEY RAID NETS $150,000 + IN STOLEN PROPERTY

On Thursday, November 19, 2015, Investigators with the Montgomery County HIDTA Narcotics Enforcement Team were contacted by the Houston Police Department’s Major Offenders Unit, in reference to a felony theft investigation. Information received during the course of the investigation revealed that an 18 wheeler that was stolen from Houston, Texas was currently at a location in the 19100 block of Kent Street, in New Caney, Texas. The stolen 18-wheeler was carrying merchandise and was equipped with a Global Positioning System.

On the same date, members of the Montgomery County HIDTA Narcotics Enforcement Team, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, Auto Theft Task Force, Criminal Investigation Division and representatives of the Houston Police Department’s Major Offenders Unit executed a search warrant at a location in the 19100 block of Kent Street, in New Caney, Texas. As a result of the search, approximately $150,000 worth of stolen merchandise, along with a GEHL Skid Steer was recovered at the location. Two individuals were arrested at the location. The case is on-going and additional charges are pending at this time.
