Website change. Last night we had an issue with the website and were forced to change the theme since the other is no longer supported. We were in the process of working on something else when this happened. The Montgomery County Police Reporter site you are seeing now is temporary until we roll out a totally new look. It will make it easier to view on handheld devices and a little more user-friendly. In addition, Facebook has been making major changes. Last week we were getting thousands of private messages from readers who simply saw a story and clicked on it to read it. The answer we got back after 5-days from Facebook was Facebook was interpreting the story links as ads. It appears they fixed the issue but many say they are not getting alerts. Several others have also emailed us about being blocked. When we reviewed the author of the email we had no block showing. Again Facebook answered, “We are aware of the issue and it is being addressed”. Maybe this is why almost 40,000 of our readers are going direct to the website and have gotten away from social media.
