no serious injuries in overnight 3 alarm grangerland fire

At 12:30 Caney Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 17600 block of Linda Lane. With Caney Creek enroute and Cut and Shoot, River Plantation also rolling a first responder who lived a short distance away arrived on the scene to find a bedroom heavily involved in fire. In addition a 14-year-olds girl had burns to the hand and her grandmother who came out but then went back into the eavy smoke for dogs and personal belongs was quickly retrieved  The dogs can out on their one.

Moments later truck began to arrive on the scene including Reno, Texas Fire Department who had been assisting in Montgomery and was staying at Caney Creeks Grangerland Station. Fire conditions worsened and with no hydrants and water supplies limited an additional alarm was sounded bringing  Needham Road and New Caney. Shuttling water from Caney Creek High School the stubborn fire refused to give up.

The fire was brought under control at 2:50a.m.

The 14-year-old stated she had plugged her cell phone charger into an extension next to the bed after arriving at her grandmothers home. Within minutes it ignited. Attempting to unplug it the young lady received a second degree electrical burn to the hand.  Both she and her grandmother attempted to put the bed pillows into the bathtub but within minutes they and the bed were on fire.

both the young lady and her grandmother were treated at the scene by MCHD.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal will investigate.
