NO SHAVE NOVEMBER COMES TO END FOR MCSO

Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson allowed his deputies and employees to not shave for the month of November. There was a catch though. The ones wanting to sport the facial hair would have to donate a minimum of $50 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Texas Gulf Coast Region. It wasn’t just the guys, others not growing the beards and many of the female employees donated also. The program ended on November 30. Today, Sheriff Henderson presented a check for $13,500 to the organization. 79.8% of monies collected by the organization actually go to help patients. Most other organizations will not publish it or are close to the 50% mark and less. This year alone $1,263,744 has been given to local patients in Co-pay Assistance for medical expenses. 876 patients received financial aid during their local blood cancer treatments. Also, 1.400 patients, families and friends who reached out to the organization for information on patient programs. In addition, the organization funded $12,050,000 to doctors working on research projects.
