Officials and plant management have just finished a press conference in Shepherd. The plant continues to burn. According to plant management, one person of the 19 that was on duty was burned when a forklift caught fire. He is being treated at Memorial Hermann and is in stable condition. There was a private school down the street. Officials evacuated those students through a pasture and they were taken to Shepherd ISD Administration where parents picked them up. There is a shelter in place north of the scene and into Polk County. Goodrich ISD has closed its schools. US 59 is completely closed. Motorists are being taken off in Livingston on 190 diverting traffic to I-45 or SH 150. An update is scheduled for 1 p.m.
