November is Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Month and multiple events are taking place right here
in Montgomery County as part of this important campaign! The Montgomery County Homeless Coalition announces the
following events as opportunities for local city and county officials and Montgomery County citizens to understand the
problems and become part of the solution for homelessness in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Poverty Simulation (open to the public – SIGN Up @ www.mctxhomeless.org)
Date: Thursday, November 12, 2015

About: During this role-playing poverty simulation participants take on roles of various low-income family members,
allowing them to better understand the challenges of house-holds living with very limited resources. See what it’s all

Homelessness Awareness Walk (open to the public) Date: Thursday, November, November 19, 2015

Location: Walk begins at Crisis Assistance Center (formerly MCEA) 1022 McCall St Conroe, TX 77301
About: This community event is a 3 mile walk that will pass by several agencies that serve clients who experience issues
related to homelessness and hunger. The suggested donation $10 per walker. Hot dogs will be served at the end of the walk.
Empty Bowls Lunch (open to the public)
Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2015
Time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Top of Conroe Tower, 300 W Davis St., Conroe, TX 77301
About: Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread for $5. Beautiful handmade bowls created by the Lone Star
College-Montgomery Clay Club and local artists will be for sale that day to help support efforts of the Coalition to educate
and provide community awareness.
