NWS: Flood Watch Through Monday Evening

…FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING…

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE…A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Brazos, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery, Northern
Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity and Walker.

* WHEN…Through Monday evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to impact the area today. Portions of the area have received 2-4″ of rainfall, and an additional 1-3″ with some locally higher totals is possible through Monday. With soils already
saturated from the multiple previous heavy rainfall events that have recently impacted the area, Flash Flood Guidance remains relatively low.
