For Montgomery, Waller, Harris and Fort Bend Counties:

Special Weather Statement issued August 27 at 12:41PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
At 1241 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near East Little York / Homestead to near Pattison. Movement was north at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Humble, Katy, Tomball, Jersey Village, Brookshire, Aldine, Northside / Northline, Spring Branch North, Greater Greenspoint, Spring Branch West, Spring, Addicks Park Ten, Spring Valley, northwestern Greater Heights, northern Eldridge / West Oaks, Kingwood, Hockley, Waller, Pine Island, and Pattison.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

For Northern Liberty County:

At 1239 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles northwest of Dayton Lakes, or 11 miles southeast of Cleveland. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Dayton, Kenefick, and Dayton Lakes.

Scott provided video, and as the blog grew in popularity, businesses began to inquire about advertising. The blog soon transitioned to a news website, and then to a print newspaper, which was sold in over 100 stores, and through subscription for several years.

Scott Engle and Jamie Nash are Montgomery County residents and veteran law enforcement / breaking news reporters, who met covering a law enforcement story and have covered multiple counties, with Scott as a television videographer for multiple local stations and national networks, and Jamie as newspaper / magazine / online reporter.
