.A new round of heavy rainfall is moving into the area from the
northwest very early this morning, and will continue to make its way
across Southeast Texas today. An additional 1 to 3 inches of
rainfall is expected across broad areas, with isolated higher
amounts of 4 to 8 inches possible within the watch area. This may
lead to flash flooding, especially in vulnerable areas, and
exacerbate already swollen rivers and streams around the area.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE…A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
areas, Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Coastal Harris,
Colorado, Grimes, Houston, Inland Harris, Madison, Montgomery,
Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity,
Walker, Waller and Washington.
* WHEN…Through this evening.
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding
of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are
running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Brazos, Grimes, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San
Jacinto, Walker, Waller and Washington.
* WHEN…Until 1000 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 653 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
– Some locations that will potentially experience flooding

heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is
0.75 to 1.5 inches per hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* WHERE…West Fork San Jacinto near Humble.
* WHEN…Until early Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…At 55.2 feet, Major lowland flooding continues with up
to 6 inches of water is over the 800 block Hamblen Road adjacent
to the Kingwood Cove Country Club Golf Course with many homes in
the Bellau Woods and Treasure Cove subdivision are flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 8:45 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 57.9 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 PM CDT Saturday was 58.8 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 58.0
feet late this evening. It will then fall below flood stage
early Wednesday morning.
– Flood stage is 49.3 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
