Eddie was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on September 16th, 1973 to John Edward Flemmons and Betty Ann Rookard. Eddie was a child who loved to play football and never went anywhere without a smile on his face. Though he was always full of spirit and laughter, life didn’t start until the birth of his daughter, Misti. Eddie became a dedicated father from day one and spent everyday making sure she was loved to the fullest. Eddie always knew he had a calling beyond being a father and began using his life to protect and serve others by joining the Cy Fair fair department in August of 2000 as a volunteer firefighter. Knowing he could do more, he began to find other ways to serve by becoming a Paramedic with that department as well. He soon decided to reach for the stars by following his dream of becoming a Deputy and finally got to begin his career as a deputy with Harris County Sheriff office in August of 2008 in the patrol and marine divisions. He continued to serve and protect with every community he could including with the Harris County Reserves, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Jewett EMS and Waller County Sheriff’s office.
When Eddie thought life couldn’t get any better, he met his soulmate, best friend and wife, Ashley and was blessed with another daughter Emma. His girls were his whole world and he made sure everyone knew that.
Eddie was a man who loved his job and his family more than anything. He was always committed, loyal and hardworking. He was a man who always loved to laugh, even at his own jokes. He never met a stranger and was determined to treat everyone with love and respect both as a friend and deputy. He loved to spend time with his family, especially making memories of a lifetime with his grandchildren Haven and Logan and being the coolest Grampz the world has ever seen. He loved to fish and making time to go to his Razorbacks games as he was their number one fan.
Eddie was a man that always left a great impression and would help anyone in need. He left an impression on our hearts, and the best memories that will last and we will cherish forever.
