Obituary for John Walter Marshall

November 12, 1952 – November 1, 2025

John Walter Marshall, 72, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on November 12, 1952, in Bethesda, Maryland, to parents Frank and Millie Marshall.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his first daughter Fawne Ward, and his grandson James Dean Cullens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sherri Marshall; his daughters Jovana YoungKiah and husband Kent ShaverTyne and husband Dustin Booth, and Shea and husband Chadoe Cullens; and his brother Shawn and wife Karen Marshall. John was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

John was a hardworking man—someone everyone could count on for guidance and answers. He was loyal to all who knew him and had a gift for storytelling that could light up any room. With a quick wit and a heart full of humor, John was both the family jokester and the steady rock his loved ones leaned on. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to everyone around him.

His presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

The family finds comfort knowing he is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before him. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor his memory.
