Kerry Robert Hackenberg, age 60, passed away on February 22, 2021, in Conroe, Texas. He was born on March 3, 1960, in Gahanna, Ohio.
Kerry grew up in the Columbus and Detroit area with his family. At 17, he made the move to Arlington, TX, and attended Arlington High School where he graduated in 1979 and was voted as the popular “Mr. Arlington High”. Kerry was always drawn to the restaurant industry through his professional career. He had a passion for mentoring people and helping them to succeed in work and in life. Kerry never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. He had the ability to walk up to anyone and start a conversation that would last for hours. What he loved most was to be around his family and he never missed an opportunity to spend time with the ones he loved. He always said “Family Comes First” and “Take care of the ones you love”.
Kerry was preceded in death by, father, Richard Hackenberg; mother, Sally Wright; and brother, Kurt Hackenberg. He is survived by his children, Chase and daughter-in-law Alaina Hackenberg, Chelsie Hackenberg, and son-in-law Jake Manous; his three grandchildren, Addison, Blithe, and Clark; his brothers and sisters, Kevin, Keith, Kristen, and Kathleen. Among these people are countless other friends and family members that he connected with over his lifetime.
Memorial Gathering to celebrate Kerry’s life will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 6300 W Arkansas Ln Arlington, TX 76016. The gathering will be outdoors and in casual attire.
