Obituary for Kurt William Hough

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kurt William Hough, age 68, on March 3, 2025. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Kurt lived life with a passion for adventure, the outdoors, and making lasting memories with those he loved.

Born on November 24, 1956, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Kurt grew up with a love for the open road, especially on his Harley-Davidson. He was known for his unmistakable presence on his bike, riding through life with the wind in his hair and a smile on his face.

Outside of his love for motorcycles, Kurt was an avid fisherman, spending countless weekends casting his line at nearby lakes and rivers. Whether it was a quiet morning on the water or a day spent fishing with friends, Kurt found peace in nature and always cherished time outdoors.

A man of many talents, Kurt also enjoyed the friendly competition of bowling and was a staple at his local bowling alley. He brought joy and humor to every game, never shying away from making others laugh while perfecting his form. His bowling league friends will remember him for his infectious personality and his ability to always keep the spirit of the game lighthearted.

Kurt’s passion didn’t stop there—he was also an avid golfer. His dedication to improving his game was only matched by his love for spending time with his golfing buddies.

Kurt leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and adventure. He was a man who believed in living life fully and finding joy in the simplest moments.

He is survived by his wife, Michele “Mickey” Hough, children, Gabriella Hough and Catherine Jackson (Kevin Smith), his grandchildren, Adrianna Amato, John Jackson II and Arya Jackson, his sister, Cheri Anderson, his brother Scott Hough (Victoria), and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Owens, his father William Hough and his son Kurtis Hough.

A celebration of life service followed by a reception with food and drink will be held at First Montgomery Baptist Church at 20423 Eva Street, Montgomery, TX 77356, March 29, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kurt’s name to the local veterans’ association.

Kurt will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in every road he traveled, every fish he caught, and every swing he took on the golf course. May he ride free in peace, forever chasing the horizon.
