Robert Lee White, Jr. (Bob), 84, passed away at his home in Conroe, Texas on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Bob was born on October 5, 1940, in Jackson, MS to parents Bernice and Robert White Sr.
Bob was active in his church, first in his early years in the Salvation Army, then later in life as an adult as a member of Crossview Church where he led an adult Sunday School class and was an assistant chaplain at Harris County Jail until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2016.
Bob didn’t meet a stranger and enjoyed all sports, especially bowling. Bob spent most of his teen years in New Orleans where he attended high school, played football, and attended college at Southwestern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA.
Bob leaves behind wife Phyllis of 28 years; daughter Sheri Miller and husband Charlie, and daughter Kristi Edwards and husband Melvin; stepchildren Traci White and husband Bruce, Troy Mills and wife Marla, Tommy Meinhart and wife Gladys; brother Pete White; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by both parents; brother Timothy White; and sister Vermelle Bonfanti.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 12412 FM 2854 Rd, Conroe, TX 77304. The Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM.
