Roy Riley, age 88, passed away peacefully in Magnolia, Texas. He was born on February 13, 1937, in Dallas, Texas to Delbert and Lorene (Kitchens) Riley. He worked at Central Freight Lines for 44 years before retiring. He was a member of First Baptist Church New Waverly, Millwinders of Texas Car Club, and the Masonic Lodge #458. Roy married the love of his life Linda where they shared the love for family, camping in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado, car shows, and rod runs. He also served the Lord by volunteering at the New Waverly food pantry.
Roy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Linda Riley; son, James Riley; brother Herman Riley; sister Nelda McCreight, and his beloved parents. He is survived by his daughters, Monica Nelson (Larry Fillip), Janice Riley, and Phyllis Caldwell (Buddy Caldwell), 5 grandchildren, Brandy Ivey (Justin), Christopher Weldon, Michael Weldon (Jaycee), Stevie Caldwell, and William Caldwell. He also has 7 great-grandchildren, Devon Walker (Nicole), Natalyn Jordan, Jase Jordan, Ava Weldon, Adilyn Caldwell, Melanie, and Mia, and 2 great, great, grandchildren Bentley and Andrew. He is also survived by his sisters, Geneva Cooney; Wanda Quinters (Phil), and Elva Walters (Larry) along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at First Baptist Church New Waverly, 460 Fisher St, New Waverly, TX 77358 with visitation and luncheon immediately after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital
