OBITUARY-GENE BOLAND

Gene Boland

 

Gene Boland, 77, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Montgomery, Texas.
Gene was born on October 7, 1940 to Kelly and Arzella (Fain) Boland in Lepanto, Arkansas. He attended Lepanto High School where he was nicknamed “Judge”. Soon after, he joined the Airforce as an airplane mechanic, where he was stationed at Goose Bay Labrador. After leaving the military, he married his childhood friend, Patricia Geno, and together they had 5 children. In 1980, the family moved to Montgomery, Texas where Gene was a general contractor and later retired with many dedicated years to the Montgomery Independent School District. He was a loving husband for 55 years, devoted father, and tender grandfather and great-grandfather.
Gene was preceded in death by his twin children, Kelly and Karrie Boland; parents, Kelly and Arzella (Fain) Boland; brother, Jay Boland; and sister, Anna Ruth Bertling. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Jeanette (Geno) Boland; son, Jeff Boland and wife Lisa (Pohl); daughter, Leslie Ybarra and husband Ricky; son, Corey Boland and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Seth, Emily, RJ, Ty, Makayla, Gracey, and Makenzie; great-grandson, Knox; sisters, Betty Meyers and Kathleen Pitts; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, along with many friends.
