JEFFREY’S OBITUARY
Jeffrey Lee Copeland, age 62, passed into the presence of the Lord, Tuesday, July 19, 2022. “Jeff,” as he was known to all his friends and family, was born May 18, 1960, in Portsmouth, VA, to Paul L. and Carolyn B. Copeland. Although a Virginian by birth, Jeff lived most of his younger years in the states of Georgia and Florida, and finally settled in Houston, Texas. He attended Blinn Community College in Brenham, Texas.
Jeff met and married the former Kimberly Ann Pali in 1995. Through the years, God blessed their union with three children.
Jeff Copeland was best known for his infectious smile, laughter, and sense of humor. As someone said, “Whenever he walks into a room, the room immediately lights up.” He worked tirelessly to support his loving family and served the Lord in everything he did. He was a devoted family man; an affectionate yet firm “Coach Copeland” to hundreds of baseball and football little leaguers; an avid horticulturalists; and loved entertaining guests in his home. Jeff was a quiet, humble man who loved his Lord and sought daily to reflect Christ in everything he did.
The homegoing of Jeff Copeland has left the world of law enforcement with one less uniform and badge. Jeffrey Lee Copeland proudly joined the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy in 1991 where he honorably served for thirty-one years. He was known throughout Harris County as a straightforward, fair and kind deputy. Jeff was a diligent, caring officer who worked many years on the weekends at Mo’s Place where he was often sought out for his wise mentoring and counseling to those in need.
Jeff leaves his wife of 27 years, Kimberly Ann Pali Copeland; sons, Cody Copeland and Connor Copeland; daughter, Camryn Copeland; his mother, Carolyn Copeland; brothers, Gregory Copeland, Stanley Copeland, Stephen Copeland, and Paul Copeland; and sister, Melinda Lambert. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Lee Copeland, Sr.; as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Visitations for family and friends will be held at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 1344 West Grand Parkway South, Katy, Texas, on Monday, July 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Second Baptist Church West Campus, 19449 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas. Interment in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, in Houston.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Copeland, Stanley Copeland, Stephen Copeland, Melinda Lambert, Paul Copeland Jr, Cody Copeland, and Connor Copeland.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bunch, John Mook, Joe Matthews, Russell Coleman, Brian Wiggins, Ron Boatman, Jr., Tim Mordecai, Brian Brawner, Dustin Copeland, Payton Copeland, and David Pali.
