Obituary of Lieutenant James Phillip Waller Jr.
IN THE CARE OF
James Phillip Waller Jr., born on July 23, 1973, passed away on May 3, 2024,
at the age of 50.

In service to his Woodville community for 3 years, Tyler County for 2 years, and in Conroe for 22 years, Jimmy fulfilled his calling to serve, protect and shepherd others. The term sheep dog has been used more than once to describe his view of his duty to the people of Conroe. Silent but watchful for opportunities to go above and beyond expectations for those who needed help the most.

Jimmy believed his Christian calling was generosity because little else brought him that kind of joy. He wanted to be sure his life mirrored the grace, love, and mercy of Christ. He spent countless hours listening to and counseling others. His greatest concern was walking in the path that Christ made for him because they would know him by his fruit.

Jimmy grew up loving his rural childhood and desired to return to that simpler kind of life. He grew plants from seeds, planted trees, harvested fruits and vegetables, and even raised his own meat. These are the accomplishments that satisfied his need to be self-sufficient.

Jimmy never considered his military career of any significance but it was a choice he made to ensure his new and growing family would have the security and provision they needed. The choice to serve in the military would help form and shape his future success in law enforcement. It also allowed an opportunity for others to recognize him for his hard work and dedication.

James leaves behind his loving wife of 15 years, Adela, parents Phillip and Wanda Waller, children Phillip Waller and wife Tiffany, Ashley King-Williams and husband Jordan, Lauren Krest and husband Dallas, and Cole Waller, grandchildren, Adalynn Waller, Beckett King-Williams, Clark Krest, and Gracelyn King-Williams, brother Jason Waller and wife Sharla, In law, John Heckman Sr, nephews, Jason Jr, and Justin Waller, nieces Taylor, Alyse, and Maggie Waller.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Metcalf Funeral Directors from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at The Ark Church at 1:00pm with burial to follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
