Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioner Metts said Old Houston Road will be closed at least another day until Wednesday. Since the washout on Sunday crews has been working at first having to remove the water from the roadway. This entailed hundreds of feet of ditches to be dug out. A large pump was brought in to clear the water from the land and road. In addition, they are clearing some of the shoulders which were overgrown with vegetation and made the road narrower in places than it really was. The ditches should be completed by Wednesday and repair of the road also by then. Once again deputies will be on scene overnight to stop anyone from using Old Houston.
