Just after midnight Montgomery County Sheriff’ Office received a call for a shooting at 354 Waterstone Court. in the Ridgelake Shores Subdivision. The caller stated her husband shot her. Units arrived on the scene to find 26-year-old Rachel Butler with a gunshot wound to the left chest in the driveway of the new home they have lived in for only a week. Also in the driveway they found her husband Jason Butler dead with a gunshot wound to the head. According to Montgomery County Sgt. Schmidt, the couple had gone to Houston to attend Jason Butler’s 20 high school reunion. On the way home, a verbal altercation took place. When they arrived home the argument continued in the driveway and turned physical. That is when they say Jason Butler retrieved a rugger from his truck and shot his wife. They couple have two small children and have been together 7-years but married 4 according to detectives. Rachel Butler remains in critical condition at Conroe Regional Trauma Center. Montgomery County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Spikes responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport Jason Butler to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
