A wreck on Rayford Road took the life of a South Montgomery County man and left another injured around lunchtime on Friday.
The crash occurred around 11:40 a.m., just west of Canyon Ranch and about three miles southeast of Oak Ridge North. DPS officials say a 2004 GMC SUV driven by 26-year-old Shawna Marie Salazar of Conroe pulled out of a parking lot, attempting to turn left on Rayford Road, and struck the right rear panel of a 2007 Ford pickup driven by 22-year-old Courtney Alan Rowland of Spring and occupied by William Richard Laughary, Jr., 39, of Spring.
The pickup was overturned and Laughary was partially ejected. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Rowland was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Salazar was not injured.
