Just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning a disturbance was reported at 4894 Old 105. One unit responded along with a backup not far behind. When the first unit arrived he was met by several mostly young people involved in a large party at the location. Cars and trucks lined both sides of the road. That’s when things began to go south. Many seeing the arrival of the deputy started to scatter through the woods. The deputy called for assistance as he felt threatened and had close to 30 at gun point. Units from around the area were en route to help him,. As they started arriving they discovered they were still needing help as shots rang out in the air. Montgomery Police were requested for assistance as was Conroe Police and DPS. Multiple Conroe units began to arrive as did additional units from others Sheriff’s Office patrol areas.
The source of the shots were soon discovered to be a neighbor shooting after many were running through the woods behind his property. The gun he was shooting with.Stolen from a case in Waller County. The shooter, Amado Gales, 50, was arrested for theft of a firearm and deadly conduct. Many vehicles had already fled the area, many were matched with people from the party. A female deputy who was off and heard the call responded to assist. She was injured after a vehicle tried to fell and ran over her foot. The injuries were minor as she transported that driver to the Montgomery County Jail.
Several arrests were made in addition to that one for charges ranging from public intoxication to open warrants. At least six vehicles were towed from the scene some of those were of of persons who fled and did not return but left their vehicles where it was causing a traffic hazard parked on the side of the roadway. Others were of those arrested.
This was the second incident in 2 days., Friday night Willis police responded to a disturbance on South Campbell Street in Willis. When the single officer arrived he also found he was out numbered and needed additional units.
