SOUTHWEST MONTGOMERY COUNTY- An early morning one-vehicle crash on Saturday claimed the life of Ruperto Garduno-Vera, 44, of Tomball, according to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Around 3:30 a.m., Garduno-Vera was southbound on FM 2978 in his 2000 Toyota pickup, about four miles northeast of Tomball when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert, became airborne, and then struck another culvert where it came to rest, according the DPS report.

Garduno-Vera, the truck’s only occupant, died on the scene.

Pct. 5 Justice of the Peace Matt Masden conducted an inquest and had the body transported to the Southeast Texas Forensic Center in Conroe for an autopsy.
