At about 1:15pm calls came in for a auto pedestrian crash on FM 2854 at Allen near the Blackwood’s Gun Range. A Lake Conroe Fire unit and a MCHD medic were just seconds away as they had been on another call. Units arrived and found a 25-year-old female deceased in the roadway. MCSO and DPS responded to the scene. They learned that Laura Vega Munz, 34, of 14818 Anchor Court in Montgomery was traveling west on 2854 with her two children ages 5 and 10. As she approached Allen a female pedestrian was in the roadway. Munz struck her with the left front of her vehicle. Munz and the children were not injured. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Unit responded to the scene. It was determined that Munz was intoxicated. She was booked in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15. FM 2854 reopened just before 6am.
