MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On January 3, Pct. 3 Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Investigations Division executed a residential search warrant at a residence located in Bryan, Texas. The search warrant stemmed from a pro-active investigation into the offense of promotion and distribution of child pornography into The Woodlands. The investigation found that 47-year-old Joel G. Garcia was associated with over 22,000 images depicting child sexual assault.
During execution of the residential search warrant, several devices were removed from the residence. A forensic review of electronic evidence belonging to Garcia was conducted and he was found to be in possession of hundreds of images depicting infant and toddlers in a sexual manner.
On the morning of January 10, five charges of Promotion of Child Pornography were filed out of Montgomery County. The Bryan Police Department assisted Pct. 3 Constable Gable’s Detectives in locating Garcia and he was arrested for the Montgomery County charges. Garcia is currently being held on a $150,000 bond in the Brazos County Jail awaiting transfer to Montgomery County.
