MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On the morning of July 20, Pct. 3 Constable Ryan Gable’s Patrol Deputies and Detectives responded to a residence in the Legends Trace subdivision in Spring, where a law enforcement special operations, a.k.a. “special ops” vehicle was forcibly entered and stolen from the driveway of a home.
Pct. 3 Detectives immediately began reviewing security video and attempting to track the location of the stolen vehicle. Items from inside the vehicle were dumped near the city of Crosby in Harris County, leading Precinct 3 Detectives to search locations in Harris County and in Liberty County, which is adjacent to Harris County not far from Crosby.
Amazingly, DPS stopped and recovered the vehicle later that night, all the way in Brooks County, as it headed toward the Mexican border. Precinct 3 Detectives traveled to Brooks County to interview the suspects who caught in possession of the stolen special operations vehicle.
Over the past four weeks, five suspects were charged and arrested for felony Theft and Engaging in Organized Crime, in connection with the stolen vehicle.
Constable Ryan Gable said he appreciated the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Unit, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for their important roles in various aspects of the investigation.
